How does this work? How do I complete the training and get a waiver?

Physicians: To complete the Buprenorphine Training Activity, you must take all 10 modules on this site, including a pre/post-test and pre/post survey. After you complete all 10 modules and request credit (You can claim up to 9 credit hours of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit (TM) after you complete the activity), you will be eligible to apply for your waiver by filling out the online Buprenorphine Waiver Notification form on SAMHSA's website. You will also need to electronically send a copy of your training certificates with your waiver application via email to infobuprenorphine@samhsa.hhs.gov OR via fax to 301-576-5237.

NP/PAs: To complete the required 24 hour Buprenorphine Training Activity, you must take all 10 modules on this site (Buppractice.com - Part 1), 5 modules on SBIRTTraining.com (Part 2a), and 10 modules on OpioidRisk.com (Part 2b) and you must complete a pre/post-test and pre/post survey for each site. The links to the training activities on these two other websites should be reached by clicking on connecting buttons at the bottom the NP/PA activity page on this website, Buppractice.com. After completing all three parts and requesting continuing education on Part 1 (8 hours) and Part 2b (16 hours total from SBIRT and OpioidRisk), you can submit the online Buprenorphine Waiver Notification online form on SAMHSA's website. You will also need to electronically send a copy of your training certificates with your waiver application via email to infobuprenorphine@samhsa.hhs.gov OR via fax to 301-576-5237.
